Pillow, 86, of 409 E. Main Marion, died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday in Herrin Hospital. He was a salesman for the Beul Brothers Mining Supply until retirement in 1948 and worked as an elevator operator at the Hotel State until 1960. Mr.

Pillow was born in Williamson County Feb. 22, 1882, a son of the late John and Malissa Young Pillow. He was married to Lula Parmley on July 31, 1904. She died June 10, 1963. He attended 86 Williamson County Fairs.

He was taken to his first as a babe in arms in 1882 and he never missed one the rest of his life. Mr. Pillow was said to have been a member of the First Baptist Church of Marion longer than any other member. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Joe Batson of Alton, two grandchildren and one -grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday i in the Wilson Funeral Home of Marion. The Rev. J. D.

A retired Carbondale fireman, Mr. Skelcher died late Saturday in his home. He also had worked at the Joppa Steam Plant and driven a taxi in Carbondale. Officiating at services today was the Rev. Bruce McNeely, pastor of Lantana Baptist Church.

Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Mr. Skelcher was a member of the Elks and Eagles lodges and the American Legion in Carbondale. Mr. Skelcher was born north of Carbondale July 22, 1906, a son of George and Daisy Elston Skelcher.
